Ok aksing for some help again...

Long story short or I will try to make it that. I just got done with the Detox off of Methadone and now I'm onto the Emotional side of this Roller Coaster Ride.  I'm asking for help on what I can take to help heal my body and Moods..
I also want to add that I just got off a Years worth of Chemo , For Melanoma so I have a weak system also...

Thanks So Much,

Wow, you have been through a lot!  You have done amazingly well for just having chemo to go off meds, too.  I don't really know what to say for body and moods except that St. Johns Wort worked for me for a while. (You have to be careful with it though, and follow the directions carefully, make sure it's from a reputable company, etc.)
Then I stopped taking it and I went on anti-depressants years later for a long while.  I am recently off of them, and while I have some hard days, it is usually because of an outside trigger, not my brain chemicals underreacting.

Other than that, there's not much I know to do, except couseling, of course, but be careful.  I got a crazy of a psychiatrist once and she was awful.

Congratulations on your accomplishment and I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Ladyrhea,

I am sorry that you are experiencing this roller coaster of emotions. I have not been where you are and I apologize that I do not have any first hand suggestions.

I would only suggest that you be good to yourself. Try warm baths and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Being as physically active as possible will help. Long walks, or of you are onto running I have heard that it can be helpful. Exercise releases the body's own natural endorphins. The best "high" ever came when I played softball. A great natural high. If there is something that you enjoy doing, please do it.

Reading or crocheting or similar things that keep your mind and body busy may also be beneficial. Please know that you are always welcome on the PM Forum but in this instance the Substance Abuse (no I am not implying that you have/had a Substance Abuse issue) Forum may have more knowledge and information in that area. Therefor you may also want to post there. The have many kind and knowledgeable members that may offer better suggestions.

You may also find that staying active on MedHelp and responding to the posts here and in the many other Forum's we have may be beneficial. I always feel better when my mind is active...or if I can offer someone else some comfort or a helping hand. I bet you will find that to be true also.

Best of luck to you. You are courageous and I admire your strength. Hang in there my dear.

Take Care,
~Tuck

I havnt had a chance to read everyone's responses but... there's Sam-E natural mood suppliments, St. Johns Wort, B Vitamin Complex, and i take something called GABA for stress. Not sure if any of that helped - my dad's an herbal fenatic, so i'll ask him tonight. You're doing so good for all that you've gone through. If you ever need anything or just want to talk, drop me a line! - Cathi

Well thank You so much for such a warm and friendly welcoming and the others were so Nice also. I do go over to the other group in Addiction. Kind of hard because I took the meds for pain and have no want to have them again. Sad I lost so much time from them in my life. What a wast...

But I will Look into the Sam-E Mood I have heard from someone else that it is good And I do have B-complex , I just keep forgetting it and the few other things I try and take daily.

As far as working out Its slow going. I still have pain and have to build my body up but I also feel the age that has come on me from all the above...So taking back some time for myself.

I would love to talk sometime and maybe you can tell me what are the good groups and when Do I know if someone wrote me back. I mean I know when I have a E-mail but Notes and such I'm hit and miss..

Thanks again,
Rhea

Hey thanks for your comment and help in this problem. That's what I think I will call it now..lol...anyway You know it does not matter that You have not been ware I'm out. I think it matters how you reach out and you did. I thank you for that..I will start doing stuff for myself, almost each person said that.

I do take a Antidepressant so I'm going to add the Natural stuff first and make sure they work with my Medication I'm on. As for working out, I'm starting with floor stuff and sit ups and stuff like that. Working up to walking the School Track...I live on a road with a ton of Hills and my Pain has been in my legs. Plus when I was on chemo, I was so tired and weak that I slept allot and stayed in bed so I have a ton of work a head of me!

But  talking to people here has helped. Does this site have like Chat Groups? Or is it all forms that you write to? And How do people really get to know each other on here?

Well I wanted to thank Each of you for writing me
It really does help to have someone to talk to........
Thanks so much,
