PAXIL

Hello all!

I have been on zoloft for over a year and it seems as though my body has become immune to it and it's no longer working for me. My dr has switched me to Paxil and I know from experience (but did it anyways b/c I couldn't resist) that you shouldn't necessarily pay attention to the horror stories that you find online... b/c everyone is different, but I would like some feedback.

I've seen the horror stories and I've also heard (from my nurse friend - directly from other nurses who take it themselves) that it is a wonder drug.

I would just appreciate any feedback/suggestions/etc -- Thanks in advance everyone :)

Paxil is used as antidepressant. It is a wonderful drug. But in the patient below 25 years, it may give some adverse reactions also. In that case if anybody is feeling more depressed after paxil or some mood changes are there, immediately consult the doctor.

Also it should not be given to the patients having following conditions.
Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome, Serotonin Syndrome - Adverse Drug Interaction, Broken Bone due to Disease or Illness, Liver Problems, Bleeding from Stomach, Esophagus or Duodenum, Serious Kidney Problems, Seizures, A Feeling of Restlessness with Inability to Sit Still, Pregnancy, Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion, Low Amount of Sodium in the Blood, Increased Risk of Bleeding, Behaving with Excessive Cheerfulness and Activity, Manic-Depression, Having Thoughts of Suicide.

So, it should be used with utmost precautions.
