Paxil question

Hi guys, I'm 31 years old and have been taking Paxil for about 10 years now. I've tried to stop taking the medication many times but my depression always returns. In any case Paxil works for me but the only problem is it has sexual side effects. I get aroused and am able to maintain an erection but it can be very hard to reach orgasm. Is there any other drug that can counteract this side effect or perhaps another anitdepressant that doesn't have this side effect? I'd love to hear your input!

You might want to talk to your Dr about adding a small dose of Wellbutrin. It's in a different class than Paxil so there should be no problem taking the two together. Hopefully some other members that are on this combo will jump in here and give you their input. I've read that adding Wellbutrin can sometimes help with the sexual problems caused by the antidepressants like Paxil. Take care. Remar

I'm not sure Wellbutrin will help with anorgasma. It will help with libido tho. It might actually worsen the anorgasma problem. I would be curious to have people's experience on Paxil and Wellbutrin with anorgasma.

I would suggest trying Wellbutrin alone first to see if it can work alone for you. Being on Wellbutrin without Paxil is supposed to be without sexual side effects other than increased libido.

I have been on Paxill for a while now and suffer the same problems that you're talking about. I started taking Wellbutrin with it to help with the sexual side effects and it definitely increased my sex drive but, I still had trouble reaching orgasm. I'm going to get off Paxill and try to see about just using Wellbutrin by itself. Trust me I understand how bothersome the side effects can be. Good Luck!
