Possible post partem depression with sex rush

My wife was on risperdal a few mths ago.  She use to talk to herself and ask me strange things for no reason etc.We never went back to the doctor after the medication finished. We thought everything was fine until...
My wife would leave me and our 8mth baby home and go wandering off.
She would ask regularly for me to consent to threesomes and for us to see other people.
She left one day and had sex with a man she met in a taxi.
The man called my house asking for her, thats how I found out.
When I confronted her she said the "voices" told her to do it.

I took her to the doctor and she said that she constantly feels like she is having a sex rush and needs to have sex (but she never told me that).

She is now seeing a psychiatrist. She is back on risperdal.
Did my wife cheat on me...meaning was it done deliberately...because the man she slept with told me everything and said she consented to everything and was a more than willing participant.

Would my wife get any better meaning... could this condition be cured. Or this is a lifelong problem that will re-occur over and over.
Any tips that you would suggest.

I need counselling...I find these things hard to accept. But my wife...Please give me some comfort concerning her condition.

Well it doesn't sound like post partum, she might get depressed with that, and think of bad thoughts, maybe more. Doing high risky behaviors is not part of PPMD.  Hearing voices  and doing high risk behavior  and abandoning her chiild is not PPMD. She needs to get into a shrink, are you both going to a regular doctor or a psych doc. A GP is unable to diagnose such actions that she is doing. She needs to get on proper meds.

With what I think she has it's a life time thing, but it can be quite controlled.
PM me if you have more questions.
