Q about Zoloft & weaning off Pristiq

I've been on Pristiq for a little over 2 months and have had minimal success with it.  Went to my GP today for a follow-up and insisted I be put back on Zoloft.  Zoloft and I have had a good relationship in the past - brought back my motivation, no more of those "racing thoughts".  Pristiq, on the other hand, has provided me the exact opposite...  All I ever want to do is sleep, yet, can't (get all jiterry/jumpy).  I experience extremely BIZARRE and vivid dreams, though not exactly disturbing.  Oh.  And the constipation's GREAT!  Anyway -

Reading through this forum and a few others, a lot of people have had complaint of weight gain with Zoloft.  Last I took Zoloft was 3-ish years ago and experienced no weight gain (if anything, weight was lost).  What is the likelihood I'd start gaining weight this go-around?  (I know - probably a stupid question since all medications affect everybody differently.)

Also - my GP didn't go into detail about the weaning off process or if I should wean from Pristiq.  I stopped taking it 3 days ago and am starting to feel the withdrawal symptoms.  Is it safe to start 25mg of Zoloft now without weaning?

Thanks!

Why did your Dr take you off a med that was working to put you on another med?
Yes, you should be working with your Dr about a tapering schedule to get off the Pristiq.
I would think that you would be able to start the Zoloft right away even though your weaning off the Pristiq. It is a med that can be added to an antidepressant to help even more so it should be safe. Of course I'm not a Dr and the best thing to do is work with your Dr on all of this. Hopefully Zoloft will help you like it did before. Your so right about us all being different. If you did'nt gain weight before chances are you won't this time. Just keep an eye on your appetite. I hope everything works out for you. Please see your Dr as soon as you can about tapering off Pristiq and starting Zoloft. Take care. Remar
