Ready to give up

by quintessence89, Oct 25, 2009 11:07PM
I've been struggling with depression for 7 years now, and it's slowly gotten better but in this last year or so it's slowly gotten worse. I'm taking prozac and it helped, but now i'm ready to give up. I've had the worst year ever this year and I feel like I cant take it. I was just wondering if anyone might be in a similar boat? I'm out of ideas

To: Losing the Way...

I too feel many times that i'm losing the way. I have tried many different approaches to healing. Sometimes it just feels like an endless spiralling cycle. Is this working or not? How can I tell if I'm doing the best thing?

I think it's related to feelings of helplessness and powerlessness. Have you experienced those powerful feelings as a result of traumas in your past? There is always a pattern. Finding the linking thread is the hardest part.

I loathe feeling defeated and helpless. Because somewhere in my brain I believe that my ultimate survival is at serious risk. Takes a while to locate and express the fear.

Hope this may trigger off a source of 'inspiration (lightbulb moment/enlightenment) Thats what I hope for everyday. Another breakthrough......

Karey'
