Remeron & Anxiety

by Cram931, Nov 02, 2009 06:24PM
I have been taking Remeron 30 mg since September 21, 2009, for depression/anxiety.  I have few side effects (craving sugar most of the time).  Anyhow, I have been experiencing mild panic attacks for about a week, nothing in particular is trigering this onset (at least not conscient).  I have to take .5 of klonipin to kill the panic attack.  I have used lexapro in the past for 8 weeks without any success.  Furthermore, Effexor was to stimulating only ingest the medication for four days (which was enough).

I have read that REMERON is a fast acting medication if no result are notice within 4 weeks, chances are it is not suitable for the individual.  I guess it as lifted my depression, but my anxiety is getting worse.  Should I consider another type of molecule?

Thank you for advice...much appreciated

Food cravings are often associated to stress.  Meaning you're possibly craving food for emotional reasons.

Not sure about the med.  This is something you should discuss with your own doctor or you could try asking on the mental health expert forum.

I used to take Remeron at the same dosage. I took it for about a year and it worked ok, I just had to switch meds because of the massive munchies the drug gave me. I gained 50Lbs on Remeron (not because of the drug, but because of the sweet tooth it gave me)

When I was on Remeron Ice cream was like frozen crack cocaine to me. I always thought they should give Remeron to patients that have low appitite problems.

The anxiety is probably just a by-product of your depression more than it is the Remeron.
I must take 2Mgs a day of Klonopin for anxiety just to give you an idea of how bad depression can make anxiety.
