Should I see a professional for assistance?

by blueshark1019, Jun 27, 2009 06:42PM
I'm only 24 years old yet for some reason I have very low energy.  So much so that it affects my social life.  (I'm writing this on a Saturday evening while receiving text messages from a girl that wants to hang out but here i sit.)  I also tend to be afflicted with small anxiety attacks whenever I have to be somewhere.  I tend to arrive places extremely early because I can't stand waiting at home to leave.  The anxiety becomes unbearable.

Yes, you're depressed!  No energy, anxiety attacks, no interest in doing things are just a few of the symptoms.  Get help, so you can get on with living your life!

Like I have told others, after trying every anti-depressant you can name, with no help, I had my testosterone checked. My testo numbers were very low--I started testosterone replacement just a few weeks ago--now I am really starting to feel much better.  It should be a few more weeks before my testo level gets to the normal range, but right now it is the very best thing I have done!

RANDO88, Did this Low testosterone level cause the same doom and gloom mental pain that depression causes, or was it more of just a lack of energy feeling?

Also are you male or female?

I experienced extreme fatigue, depression, just an unbelievable lack of any motivation--sometimes I just really didn't care. I have had these feelings in the past, but over the last 5-6 yrs. they became much more pronounced. ( I am male-54 yrs. old)  I just hope the testosterone replacement continues to work as well as it has as in builds up in my system.

That's interesting. So for a long time you were mis-diagnosed as having depression?
Kind of makes me wonder if I may also have low Testosterone.

I may get my level tested to see if it's in the norm.

To Hensley258                                                                                                                      To get tested  for low testosterone is very simple, just a blood screen. Although I was told to fast for 8 hours and get the test in the morning when your natural testosterone level is typically at the highest level.

Only thing is that my sex drive is very high. Wouldn't that mean that there is no way I could have low testosterone? I always thought that if you had low testosterone that your sex drive would always be low.

That Hensley258 in my case was a problem. If you go to www.thehiddendisease.com this should answer all your questions. It is a series of very informative videos.  It is a bit long, but well worth taking a look.
