Should my mum try other antidepressants and not setraline/zoloft?

Hi  - it seems to me that every single person reacts differently to Zoloft, it's quite scary how much of a gamble it can be. My mum is on a non branded version and has been having a terrible time, she's lost her appetite and has had some horrible symptoms too i.e nausea, light headedness, she's lost alot of weight too however she also missed days so we're not sure if it's because she's been ireggularly taking them or if it just doesn't agree with her. She's flying over to stay with me for a few months as she doesn't get adequate medical support in the UK.

My question is should we investigate her switching meds? or could she be suffering from symptoms of not taking 's her pills once a day, shes supposed to be on 50mg a day but misses 2 or 3 days at a time and has been on them for almost a year and is alot of weight loss normal?

Yes, is the answer.  She needs to go back to her Doctor.  The weight loss could be because the depression is not being treated, the Doctor should be willing to try a New Medication.

I have tried 2 that did nothing for me, 1 that made me worse.  I have found a medication that works well.  It is quite common to have to make a couple of trials i have heard. She should not accept this situation, but the problem being she is depressed and does not have it in her to think or feel she deserves to feel well.  And she does deserve to feel well.
