Tablets

I have been prescribed Citalopram 10mg daily for my depression today.  I asked for an antidepressant that would not put weight on.  Anyone with experience of this drug.  Gp said he had a very good drug but that it would put weight on so I didnt want that.  Any side effects, best time to take info would be helpful.

I take 20 mg of citalpram and I did gain some weight in the beginning but diet and exercise have taken it off.I had to work hard at it but I did lose it.I am n ow back to the weight I was before the med.(Iwas overweighrt anyway lol) so I am working on loosing the rest of the weight.
I do believe that even if I wasnt able to loose the weight idecided I much preferred to be overwight and happy than skinny and miserable and suicidal.I am bi polar and I ma doign well.I take my meds everyday faithfully and I have a gret life now after almost ruining most of my relationships with my spouse and my children.
i take mine at night.It does make you drowsy for a couple weeks ,but that will subside.
