Taken escitalopram for 2 months but now feel slipping?

Hi,  I have been taking the drug now for 2 months.  All has been good I started running and feeling a lot better and no noticeable side effects.  I thought all was getting back to a form of normal, however over the last few weeks, feel like slipping back.  I have had no break in dose etc, but feel slipping backwards and getting down + don't know why?

Can you build up a resiliance to this drug?  Or maybe it is a side effect?  I think the GP will say up the dosage, but have been good so not sure why this has happenned?

Is this common / anyone else gone through this?
Thanks

Andy.

I was put on escitalopram after citalopram was no good for me. I too built up what seemed a resilience to it having been taking them for over 3 years and am now on venlafaxine instead. Been on these ones for just over a year now and similar thing happening again, it is just your body getting too used to it. All I make sure I do is mention any mood changes to my GP and they then decide what is required and when.

Hi andy922,  I do believe that your dose can be increased at three months but not before.  I was on this for quite a while and also tolerated it well.  It could be a drug interaction.  Have you started any new drugs since then, including over the counter? Call your doctor.  Only he/she knows for sure.  You do not want to backslide. It sounds like you enjoyed feeling "a form of normal."  Your doctor will believe that you have been taking it correctly. Let us know how it goes. OK?

Thanks for this.  They basically told me that but I wanted to check out first with other similar people.

This is not uncommon. And you're right. Your Dr will probably recommend upping the dose.
