Trazodone for sleep-dizziness

Trazodone for sleep-dizziness

My doctor has me on Celexa 20 mg, which I have worked up to - day 6.0n 20 mg after 2 weeks. I did not seem to have trouble with this dose. But he added Trazadone to the mix- 50 mg at night for sleep. I only took it for two days and I was so dizzy the next day that I had trouble functioning. I did not take it last night but I still feel dizzy. How long does it stay in your system,. I am assumining it is the Trazodone, and not the Celexa. I hate all these meds, but I have to take something.
Please don't tell me to talk to my doctor....Yea I know that....just looking for real feedback.

My Dr prescribed Trazadone for me too and I could not tolerate it because of the dizziness. Like you, I tried it for two days and that was enough. The dizziness should go away pretty soon but it could also be the Celexa causing some of it. Keep us up to date on how your doing.  Remar

You may find these effects will go away in time.  2 days is a short time and most of these medications have some side effects in the beginning.
Perhaps break it in half and take 25mg a couple days and see what happens.
I've taken 50 mg trazdone at night for decades w/o problem..

here's some exciting info they don't tell you in the dr.'s office.  trazadone is used to tranquilize some farm animals.

they prescribed me this for sleep too....50 50mg pills...i have only taken it twice at night since i was prescribe it....but i split them in half so i only took 25 mg.  i never felt dizzy the next day but that was probably because the pills that they prescribed me to take in the morning were like prescription cocaine on my system.

i stopped taking everything.

if i absolutely need to sleep i take a half of a zanex but only if i need it because i to hate all of this kind of medication.

the rest of my crazy i just deal with.

Thank God, the dizziness from the Trazadone has gone, and I feel normal....although take that comment with a grain of salt.
Thanks for the comments :)
