Triptafen M

I have been taking Triptafen M on and off for a few years, as required and it always helped lift me. I never had any side effects and could come off it quite easily, thats why i liked it. However, this is no longer available in UK and my GP has tried me on others and I get terrible side effects, can't get over the first few days.

Anybody else tried these and if so what did you replace them with please?

Triptafen is one of the older Tricyclic antidepressants. I'm presuming the ones the GP has tried you on recently are some of the newer SSRI antidepressants (they work in a different way).

Maybe the SSRI ones just don't suit you, so you should probably ask for a different Tricyclic antidepressant, such as Desipramine.
You could try a herbal antidepressant like Rhodiola Rosea as well, hardly any side effects and it worked great for me. If you try that then make sure it's at least 2 weeks since you took any other antidepressant.
