Venlafaxine and methadone

Hey everyone, Im on methadone now about 4 years and i have been feeling depressed and taking panic attacks as of late. My grandmother knows a drug called venlafaxine but dont know what it could do if im on methadone. I have seen other posts where people were on both drugs and said it worked great. I hope there is someone who could give advise. Thx so much  , Sean John

I'm coming off of methadone after being on it for 7 yrs. I have never heard of the drug you're talking about....I noticed this post is a few weeks old...how are you doing now? i was on 90 mgs a day...i'm on 40 now and as of next week i'm gonna do 30 for a few days then 20...when i get on 20 i have found a medical detox that will take me after being on 20 for a week....i was addicted to oxycontin , i know how bad detox is and if i don't have help i don't think i will follow thru...plus counseling is a must for me......let me know how you're doing ...i have also started an antidepressant and non narcotic med for aniexty called buspar...cacium, magnesium and zinc vitamins are suppose to help ALOT also......

Hi.  The drug you are talking about is generic Effexor XR.  I have been on it for a few months and seem to being okay.  Good luck
