WHy do my parents don't care about me

Hi my name is kennedy and i have two parents that haven't been there for me in my life they don't understand things and sometimes i feel like runing away because they trat me like crap and my mom was harley in my life my dad was for a little bit but then things got worse between them and my daddy left to and eventally he came back but i never had to good parents and i feel like i have to depend on my boyfriend a whole lot . I want to runaway with my boyfriend but am still in high school and am trying my hardest to stay but parents are making it hard on me to stay with them so i need to know what can i do .

I'm sorry to hear that your parents are that way. Sometimes people just shouldn't have children, as they don't have the mentality to be a true parent. My dad growing up didn't care about my sisters and I either. He used to beat us and say horrible things to us, about how we we trash and would never do anything in our lives. My mom was there, but she also wasn't. My dad didn't work and she had to work a few jobs to keep a roof over our head, so we didn't see her too much.

I know how tempting running away sounds (trust me, I wanted to do it so many times growing up) but in the end running from your problems doesn't fix them. It's hard to be on your own. If you do run away, do you have the financial means to support yourself and your partner? I'm not trying to be rude, it's just harder to do than it sounds. It seems like it could fix it a lot, but more times it just adds to your problems. Then you have the stress of trying to pay bills, go to work, go to school, etc etc. Do your parents drink, do drugs? Is there any family history of depression, bipolar, abuse, etc etc.
