Want to stop taking three anti depressants

I take Pristiq,Ablify and Wellbution. Is there one pill to help with all three of my problems?

Although Pristiq and Wellbutrin are both antidepressants, Abilify is an atypical antipsychotic which can be used to augment antidepressants. Is there one pill that will replace all of these, no. They each tap different things in the brain. I looked up Pristiq and Wellbutrin in an online PDR and found:

WELLBUTRIN (bupropion hydrochloride), an antidepressant of the aminoketone class, is chemically unrelated to tricyclic, tetracyclic, selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor, or other known antidepressant agents.

PRISTIQ is an extended-release tablet for oral administration that contains desvenlafaxine succinate, a structurally novel SNRI for the treatment of MDD.

Pristiq is an SNRI while Wellbutrin is not. Abilify is not in either class, it is totally different.

Is there one pill to help with all three of your problems? Well, your doctor doesn't seem to think so. You didn't mention what you're 3 problems are ..
At one point I was on both Effexor and Abilify, then my doctor took me off the Effexor. I have done fine on Abilify alone - but that is me. Did your doctor put you on all 3 of these meds at once - or at different times, in response to symptoms you were having? I would speak with your M.D. at your next visit and tell him or her that you don't want to be on so much medication. See what he or she says. I always prefer to side with the doctor when it comes to this sort of thing. If you really don't like the answer you get, you can always see another physician. Good luck and take care!
