I have been on and off Effexor for 8 yrs.  I very recently went thru withdrawal once more as my Physc doctor felt it best to change my medications around.  I was on 300 mg of Effexor and was switchedf to Prozac all in one day.  Yes, I went thru withdrawal but with the addition of Prozac the withdrawal was not as brutal as in the past.  I have withdrawn "cold turkey" and ended up on the physc ward.  I strongly suggest that you be under a doctor's care when stopping Effexor.  Best of luck to you.

Yes, do keep us updated on how your weaning is going. For me this was the hardest antidepressant to wean from. We're all so different and need to listen to our bodies. Some people can go much faster than others as far as weaning. I'm glad to hear your doing so well. Take care. Remar
