Why do you want to take weed?  Why do you think it will help alleviate depression?  I think you will find there have been posts here from people who regret taking it because it has given them depression or made it worse.  Personally I don't think it is a good idea.  But my opinion of course.

Are you taking anti depression medication at all?  Do you think that weed would be a better alternative?  Could you tell us why you want to do this as it will help us understand.

I am not sure why you would want to use a drug for just depression... But, that is just my view. And take it as just that. I have found that sunshine (light), exercise, and generally being around happy people instead of people that bring me down have helped way more than any medication that I was on. And I was on plenty. Most caused more side effects than the depression itself. I understand not wanting to crawl out of bed, but it is a must. I understand not wanting to be around others, but do it anyways. The best advice ever given to me (and I hated it) was "Fake it til ya make it" and it worked. I smiled and wrote about what I was thankful for until I realized there really were worse things in life. I know it sounds easy for me, but I still struggle. I have been in counseling for almost 16+ years. It is no easy road or out. No drug will make it go away. I know I am not answering your question. But, hope and faith goes way farther, so you need to have those. I learned that to have complete wellness you had to have physical, mental and spiritual. And they have to be in balance. If you are, then lean on the ones that are the strongest and use them to your advantage. If you have faith, read your Bible, let it lead you. If you are physically fit, run, get your own feel good endorphins running to make you feel good until the mental gets back in line... there is some evidence that weed works, not going to lie. But the brain is a tricky thing and when you mess with the chemicals in it, you mess with it forever. You cannot turn back the time of damaging the one brain given to you and then trade it in, so you must take care of the one you have. Good Luck. And Like I stated in the beginning. I am not genius, no therapist, no expert, just been thru hell and back with pain (emotional and physical) and have fought back from the brinks (mainly alone) to get my life back as it is my life and if I don't, no one else will fight for me... :) Wishing you the best.. :)

No.

That's not usually a very good approach at treating depression anyway.

Have you tried addressing the depression in any other way?
