Weight gain

by TeeVee36, Apr 23, 2009 01:16PM
I am currently on Paxil for close to a year now.  I joined weight watchers and am not losing any weight and it is upsetting.  I was aware the you could gain weight on Paxil and other AD's but that it wasn't a certainty.  Does anyone know of an alternative AD that doesn't cause weight gain?

I am ready to stop taking the Paxil and I know I have to ween myself off.  I am on 40 mgs and am thinking about breaking them in half - any thoughts on that?

I also take paxil. 20mg.  I got to where I was sooo tired and fatigued all the time. I started taking them every other day instead of every day. I have much more energy and feel like living again. I have noticed a small weight gain while on them.  I think most all of these kinds of drugs do that tho. You are on a pretty high dosage for a reason, so talk to you doctor about going off of em.  You have to do it slowly, very slowly as to not activate all the withdraw symptoms.
