Wellbutrin Sr Generics

I was taking a Wellbutrin SR 150mg generic (manufactured by Teva) twice a day for approximately 9 months with good results for anxiety/depression.
Then I changed from a local drugstore chain to a mail order prescription service to save money.The mail order service sent me a generic that is maufactured by Sandoz(I went from a yellow pill to a purple one). After taking the new generic for approximately two weeks I began to feel my previous symptoms of anxiety and depression come back, almost as if the medication was a placebo. I have been taking the new pill for 3 months now and it seems ineffective.

Is there any reason why this would be and has anyone else had similar problems?

Many generics have differnet levels of the active ingredients and different kinds of fillers. I learned this the hard way when I was prescribed my first thyroid medicine. I have to take the generic becasue the namebrand sends into a manic hyper state even at low doses but the generic works beautifully for .me.
Call your doc and have him write on the prescription to only fill with wellbutrin.You might want to go back to your original pharmacy so you can it.
It really irks me that these insurance companies and pharmacies can switch back and forth between generic and  name brands I would love to show them the printout from the thyroid forum to let them know how badly it can affect your health by doing this

Venora Moonwind is right. The same thing happened to me several months ago when I had to start getting my Nortriptilyne (antidepressant) from mail order with Express Scripts rather than thru my local drug store.

The ones I got from mail order were a Generic brand made in Isreal.
After about 4 days on them it was like I was taking a Sugar pill!

I informed my Psychiatrist and he told me that sometimes the "so called" generic equivelent AD meds can be much less effective.

No doubt in my mind that they were inferior in quality.

I am starting to find that a lot of the Generic medications are produced in places like China, Indonisia, and Mexico. God knows the quality control in those countries is very poor. I put this stuff in my body and it comes from China! That's just wonderful!
