Wellbutrin XL

by Bill20, May 19, 2007 12:00AM
Suspect Wellbutrin XL contributing to mania. How does one safely reduce Wellbutrin XL? Because it is time release form can cutting the 300mg tab in half cause problems? If so how does one reduce dose?

You should probably go talk to your doctor/psychiatrist.  I believe wellbutrin is not recommended for someone who experiences any kind of mania...But don't stop taking it unless your doctor told you to!  And the information that comes with wellbutrin says not to cut the pills in half, so I'm thinking you probably shouldn't try that either!! If you're experiencing mania, your doctor should know which anti-depressants won't make the mania worse...

Call your doc asap and get her/him to call you in 150 mg. Stopping the 300 helped me immediately the next day. Do not cut in half.
