Wellbutrin XR and how quik it works

by ladycolpepper, Nov 08, 2008 02:49PM
I started taking my wellbutrin XR 2 days ago for severe depression again. Haven't had to take it for a long while now. Cannot remember how long it takes. I wish it worked in a day. I ned relief of this. I have lost 7 lbs in a week, cannot eat, do not want to eat, do not want to do nothing. Just want to lay and sleep...... Does anyone know how fast I should feel some relief and feel a little better. It is like I am blank and don't know what  to think about. Like I am looking around and not seeing what I am looking at.........People talk to me and I don't hear what they say really.......I haven't been this bad depressed for years and years........

You should start to feel some effect soon, with full effect taking several weeks.  What dose of Wellbutrin are you taking?

Are you sleeping okay?  Most people take Wellbutrin XL in the morning.

It usually takes 3-4 weeks for some antidepressants to kick in.  I'm starting it tomorrow (generic version) to augment Effexor XR.  I also take Klonopin for anxiety.  Hang in there!  Each day you'll hopefully be getting closer to getting some relief.  I will be taking 150 mg in the morning with my other antidepressant.  Best of luck to you.  Please keep me posted on how you're doing.

finally after a few days........some relief.......talking helps so much also, my MIL is a lifesaver and my hub is a sweetheart. It does help when you are with people who will help not down you. I have times when I just ball , but I am getting there and am fighting the best I can. Going to dr on the 19th to talk to him also. I know I have to. That is a key to depression and knowing you have it and dealing with it. thanks and let me know how you are doing and how the meds are helping.
