I have been on EffexorEffexor Effexor xr and AbilifyAbilify Abilify discmelt (as an adjunct for depression) for about 6 months now, and have just begun to switch from EffexorEffexor Effexor xr to WellbutrinWellbutrin Wellbutrin sr Wellbutrin xl. My doctor recommended I stay on the AbilifyAbilify Abilify discmelt, but after reading about WellbutrinWellbutrin Wellbutrin sr Wellbutrin xl I was struck by how both Abilify and Wellbutrin work on dopamine. If Wellbutrin works to inhibit dopamine reuptake and Abilify works to balance dopamine, do the drugs interfere with each other? I can't say with certainty if the Abilify has actually helped me, so stopping would not be a problem. I just want to get the most out of the Wellbutrin that is possible, as I have been pretty disappointed with Effexor. If Abilify interferes with that, then I want to get off of it. Any insight into the situation is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
