Wellbutrin and Xanax

Hi, this question is basically for my mom.  She was prescribed Wellbutrin a few months ago along with Lexotan.  The problem now is that Lexotan is currently not on the market.  So I was wondering if she could take the Xanax for it with the Wellbutrin, or Amitriptylline. Could you please advise.  One doctor said the amitriptylline but the pharmacist said xanax. So I am a bit confused.  Please advise.  Thank you.

I take it your mom has anxiety along with depression? Wellbutrin is one of the more stimulating antidepressants so it can be hard to take if you also have anxiety. The problem with Xanax is that it can be additive and some people get used to it very fast, needing increases. I see you live in Jamaica so I'm not you have the same meds we do here in the USA. She might do well on Klonopin. It's still in the benzo family, which will help her anxiety, but it's less addictive and lasts longer than Xanax.  Remar
