What will happen if....?

If I told the school councillor or my teacher that I cut myself what would happen? Would I be hospitalized, or what? I know my parents would be told...

  It would depend on exactly what is happening and whether a psychiatrist at that point would determine that was neccessary. However since you are concerned about it you would be doing the right thing to call it to their attention because they could help follow up with it before anything got worse and then you could be helped now. If you have concerns about whether anything you tell them could cause you to need to go to the hospital that's worth discussing with them as well. Also decades ago I was in the psych. hospital a few times and they were quite helpful to me so sometimes that can be needed and it shouldn't be anything to be frightened about. You can discuss this with them as well.

I highly doubt You would be admitted to hospital, You would most likely be assessed or referred to a counsellor or psychiatrist and Yes Your parents would be notified.
I have a similar situation when I was 12 except they found out and had me refered to a psychiatrist

I agree with Charmii1988. The fact that you want to report it, is the first step in understanding it. Very rare a person who cuts actually wants to commit suicide. Its a behavior to release stress or pain in your life. Cutters are very particular where they cut, and how. Most hide it out of ridicule from those who do not understand it. I'm a former cutter myself. I had seen a therapist for behavioral and stress management. I learned ways to prevent the behavior and find a more positive release of stress. The therapist gave me a book called SIV (Self Inflicted Violence), not sure who the author was, but I swear it was written for me. It helps you understand your emotions and guides you to a better outcome. This is nothing to be ashamed of.  You would be shocked what types of people do this, young and old.
