Withdrawal.

I've just tried to type a question and managed to erase it all, I think, because of the problem(s) I was actually writing about. Long story short, my prescription service ***** and I ran out of both Wellbutrin XL (450 mg) and Effexor (75 mg) almost 2 weeks ago. I didn't see any other posts about stopping the two simultaneously and I'm wondering if other people have experienced the same symptoms - the pins and needles/zaps are getting worse and have gone from just my left foot and leg to my whole head and most of my body, the nightmares and night sweats are unpleasant, and doing anything requiring gross motor skills and visual acuity is kind of hard (I discovered when trying to drive my car today), and it seems that now I'm having issues with typing (how I managed to lose my entire question 5 minutes ago...). Has anyone got any insights into the double whammy?  I'm supposed to be getting new prescriptions, but that could take another 2 weeks...
Thanks.

Hi
Your withdrawals will be worse because your brain is trying to deal with coming off two medications, it does not like sudden changes and withdrawal though horrible your brain
is trying to heal itself. The brain has been switched off for how many years you have been on them in my case it was eight years. I went cold turkey off effexor due to a stupid Dr changing the type of anti-depressant I was on. I've been off them seven months and counting it has not been an easy ride. First came all the physical symptoms nausea, running to the loo, spasams, I couldn't take my son to school.
Now I have the emotional stuff feeling out of sorts anxiety, depression, lonliness fear.
I remember driving my car and was blinded by the lights, also forgot where to turn on the lights ?? Also forgot for abit directions to somewhere I was very familiar with !!
I take 40 mg's of propananol beta blocker and clonidine 100 mg's of a night this is given to people coming off drink and drugs. My journey has not and is not easy but it beats feeling nothing and sleeping my life away. Remember withdrawals mimic the depression and anxiety also if you go back on them it does not mean the withdrawals will go away if anything thye may become worse because it's another change for your brain to deal with.
Take care
Lorraine xx

I think it is just withdrawal as you have already identified.

Is it possible to ask your doctor for samples in the interim or to ask for another med which may help you better deal with these symptoms?

I'm sorry you're going through this.  Perhaps by the time you have your new script these symptoms would have improved.  Hopefully then you won't go through more side-effects.
