Xanax

How do you correctly taper off 12mg of Xanax. YES 12MG ITS OUTRAGEOUS! They took me down 2mg already and I have not slept for two weeks! Please Help!

How fast did you get down to 10 mgs? You have to taper very slowly with Xanax. I take it your working with a Dr while going through the taper. Are you going to be put on another anti anxiety med?

Hey, there. I am on 10-12mg xanax for 20 years. It is the only medication which helped me with anxiety, panic and depression. Sometimes I take less going till 2 mg a day, but when I a,m doing this I am taking Avanza (Mirtazepine) which helps me sleep, not addictive new antidepressant.. Buttom line, I don't intend to cut xanax totaly, as I see no point in suffering again . Doing liver tests every year, am not drinking alcohol at all. If you create a probleme( like the obsession you are an addict for xanax, this is a stigma and so on) you are working against yourself. I am 44 ,had an work accident 2 years ago and broke my back, thus I am in screws literaly. As with any poison, our body developed resistance to xanax, as well fizical and psychological addicion. I am pretty sure I am not going to die due to xanax/...guaranteed. If the drug is working for you, helping to have a normal life(almost...) just try to go slowly on a maintenance dose 2-4 mg a day., and than take more only if you feel ''the black doog'' getting ready to atack.
