Zoloft

In 1995, Fifteen years ago I told my doctor that I feel like crying and sad for no reason and he put me on  Zoloft 25, 50 and then 100mg.  Later I was even taking Zoloft 150mg then back 100mg and even 50 mg. After taking 16 years I told my psychology doctor that I want to stop taking Zoloft and he advised me to tapering off. Now I am almost 5 days off from Zoloft but I have so much nightmare dreams and my shoulder are under pain and feel like confused.
My personal family doctor is not happy and he asking me to continue take and even she call to my Psychology doctor to not let me stop. Is make any sense for me to stay off or I should listen to my primary doctor?

You guys all really awesome friendly people and most of them been thru many problems in there lives. I have decided that it doesn't cost me anything and my all medications paid by insurances. So, why should taking risk, I would stay on little dose as 50mg a day. Also my doctor was not happy for stopping medication. Thank you all.

me and dreams dont get along with medication like that...so i know how you must feel...try to visit your psychologist more to ween yourself off the medication...only you know whats right for your body that a long time to be on medication...do you depend on it to get you through the day? have it made your life better or worse..? think about how much you accomplished since you been on the medication and if a lot was good stay on it..if not see your psyc more and get off gradually.

I was on zoloft for many years but felt like I build up a tolerance for it. Might be time to try something else. You have to wean yourself slowly.
