abilify work well with lexapro?

I take 10mg of lexapro once daily but its not enough. My dr tried having me take it 2x's a day but I had VERY bad side effects, so im back to just 1x a day. I don't want to switch the lexapro all together because its def. helped more and has had less side effects than anyother I have been on. I have also tried zoloft, prozax, paxil, and wellbutrin xr. Anyways, I was just wondering what expeirences anyone else has had on abilify? I know it effects everyone different but.....

Thanks, maybe i'l bring up  trying a SNRI at my next doctors appointment. Its just that I don't have insurance right now so I go to a free clinic where (and I mean no offense to anyone) the clientel seems a little dicy so im always afraid of bringing up different medicines I have thought about trying. Im afraid they look at you funny, you know so many people do abuse medications and I would hate to look like somone whose looking for some miracle drug to make me feel good all on its own, lol. Anyways I also have adderal prescribed to me by the same doctor who has me on lexapro. Can you take a SNRI with a amphetamine?

Also I don't take it all the time... but I do use it

Abilify can be used to augment antidepressants such as Lexapro.

I use Lamictal to augment my Pristiq and it works much better than just the Antidepressant alone.

Combining SSRI's or SNRI's with mood stabilizing drugs such as Abilify or Lamictal can often help a lot. Although they do take a good few weeks to kick in.

In the past I have taken just about every drug you mentioned above, but I am supprised that your doctor has never tried you on an SNRI such as Effexor XR or Pristiq.

Either one of these medications tends to be more effective for many people that do not get full relief from SSRI type antidepressants.

I like the SNRI's much better. They seem to help more with the focus factor and have a bit more of a "pick me up" sort of effect. Pristiq I have found to be particularly effective because it is an SSRI and SNRI dual action effect. It seems to hit the depression and anxiety full force from two sides rather than just targeting one specific neurotransmitter. Many people are switching to Pristiq now because it is showing to be exceptionally effective for even medication resistant depression.

I would say it's about the most effective one I have ever been on. That says a lot considering I have been thru 18 meds changes in 16 years.
