I was on abilify and they took me off because i had almost every side effect!! You should look it up and read up on it and see what you think. If anything, you should be put on Seroquel. You should ask about it. Its a real good medication. Its what i am on, and it works for me. I am 14, and i take 200 miligrams.

I'm considering it with my doc. I asked here a number of days ago and had two answers which confirmed that I think I shall say NO to it. The side effects sound too common and worrying although there are others who say it was a miracle for them.

I suppose you could always stop it if it is going wrong but I agree Aeroquel would be far better. I'm on Seroquel now but need to change in about a month. Seroquel has been excellent for me.

I really, really hate going on new meds, especially when there seems to be either good or bad coming. Not a risk we should have to take is it?

Can I assume that as a nurse you have seen or heard much about this med?

I have dont know that many people on it but of the two i do know they said it was a miracle drug for them.  Its kind of scary because you can hear all kinds of bad things here on the internet.  I went to the Amen clinic and had the SPECT scan done and have been seeing them and they think this is a great drug as well as my doc who has no training in mental health.  Both said the side effects are very few. They only want me to take 2 mg because i am so sensitive to meds.

Who knows, maybe it will do mirachles for you. Everyone reacts different to meds. Maybe it will be the one for you

Well that sounds promising doesn't it? I guess, like you, I'm worried about the side effects which sound dreadful if you get them.

I've been on other meds though which had potential awful side effects and didn't get a thing. And then I've been on one A/D which had no particular warning and ended up with long term oedema, needing pain relief daily, now 4 years plus of that so I guess we just don't ever know what may happen to us do we?

What are you going to do? I'm still humming and haaing as I do trust my doc, as much as anyone that is. If you've seen the people who say it's a miracle then I'd tend to try it myself. Just haven't seen anyone as yet.

Hope you make a good decision and get a great result.
