Hi,

That's the question we all want an answer to I'm afraid. No one has that answer. But we all have to have hope that it will happen. It does happen for many every day, as just as many fall over too.

I can say on Effexor that 37.5 mgs is really just an introductory dose and would have little positive effect. So your doc is just seeing how you respond to these two. I don't know the other med at all, haven't used it.

Good news is if the doc is giving such a low dose of Effexor then they mustn't think yoiu are in dire need, at least right now. Which is encouraging in the way you'd like your question resolved. That is if they think you only need low dose meds they must also think you are not far down and thus will be easier to help recover quickly.

Just guessing really, based on the FX dose as you've not told us much about your Depression at all.

But rest assured many do go off meds and live good lives without meds. Some, like me, stay on meds and do OK. It varies. Some go off and come back on and go off an.... You get the pitcha!!
