I'm sorry antidepressants haven't worked for you. Have you tried asking your doctor to increase your dose? Sometimes the lower doses aren't as effective. Also, if you haven't checked the symptoms for bipolar II or cyclothymia, you might want to. Most people with bipolar disorder spend most of their time in the depressive state. Bipolar needs different meds than depression.
Other things to try are regular moderate exercise, blue light therapy, and a gluten-free diet. Flax oil and vitamin B supplements can also help.
Talk to a therapist...they can really help. I have seen 3 therapists who did absolutly nothing for me and so i lost hope....but randomly at the college im at i started seeing an inter psychologist and she just helps me so much. Its all about finding the right person to talk to. This therapist has opened my mind to so much hope and made me realize things about myself I had no idea about. Also, exerize helps depression, healthy eating...also something that helps is finding a hobby. This gives you something to focus on and set goals for yourself. A lot of times people with depression lack motivation so this can help with that. Whether it be a hobby such as painting, drawing, cartooning, taking up an instrument, learning a language, biking, hiking, etc. When you reach your goals you feel good about yourself and its a confidence/mood booster. A lot of times its trial and error with medicine...I have been on 3 different medicines and im about to try a 4th. Dont give up, youve got lots of support at the very least, from here :)
have you given them the time it takes to start working?? Some take a week and others can take up to 4-6 weeks?
