bipolar

I'm probably 99.9% sure I have bipolar disorder, although I haven't been to a doctor, mostly because of my fear of them. I've discussed my feelings and experiences with a friend who has been diagnosed with the disorder and is being treated for it, and she agrees that she is certain that I have it. I tend to steer away from asking her questions related to her disorder, merely because I feel like I'm being invasive and making her talk about something she doesn't want to talk about.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed/treated for it, and if you could tell me what sort of things they do? Do you have to go to therapy or councelling or something? Anything else you'd like to tell me would be great.
Thank you

I am bi polar and yes it takes a combo of meds and therapy to remain stable. You need to go to the doctor to get evaluated
Bi polar is result of the brain giving you too much seritonen (manic cycle) and then not enough (depression cycle). itis like a carberator running to rich or too lean. the meds satbilize  this .The therapy will help you understand being bi polar.
So get your evaluation and go from there.good luck and let me know how it goes for you.
