celexa and libido, im so upset

im so upset, my dr put me on abilify in september with my effexor, my libido got very low and i wasnt able to come, now the dr is taking me off effexor and abilify and put me on celexa...now my libdo is completely gone and i cant come at all....it was the only thing i had left i was able to enjoy, i could always get in the mood and able to come fast and at least 2 times, now it just hurts and i dont want to do it....is this from the celexa? I just want to feel normal, but this side effect stinks...help and advice or suggestions?????

I highly recommend you try either generic Wellbutrin or generic Remeron.  They are both described at this site:

I just started Remeron, and it seems like I feel a whole lot better than I did when I tried the Effexor and Cymbalta.

definetly give Wellbutrin a try if the others dont work for you, ive only been on it for 2 weeks and my drive has skyrocketed. that alone helps with the depression...

On effexor I couldnt come but after a couple of months I could.  But not as easily.  So maybe it will ease off in a while.  But it was definately worse after starting, completely dead.....

I am now on cymbalta it is the same, bummer, exactly the same.  There are new medications coming along.  My psyc. Doctor was involved in the trial of Valdoxan and it should be here in Austria in the spring.  No sexual side effects she says!

So I am looking forward to that.  Wellbutrin has the opposit effect sexually but did nothing for my depression.

thanks, im on a low dse already, 10mg...its just hard im limited to the meds i can take sinc ei have no insurance or money...so they give me what is cheap...its just not fair, bu i def wil alk to him when i see him in a couple weeks...however my mood fels stable so thats a plus....are you on any anti depressants? how are you doing??

Yes, your having problems with your libido because of the meds. Antidepressants can have that terrible side effect. Can you lower you celaxa dose? that might help things. I have heard that wellbutrin does'nt have this side effect. You might wan to research that med. This is why alot of people quit taking their meds. I'm not sure why they can have this terrible side effect. I recommend talking to your dr. about meds that don't have this side effect. I wish I could help you more. Take care. Remar
