cold turkey off sertraline 50mg and IVF

Help!  My partner (male) has decided that he will go off the above medication that he has been on and managing for 4 years due to the fact that we are on the IVF program and has been told that he has a lower sperm count.  He has it in his head that this is why, even though I believe that there are other factors involved like age (40) alcohol and mariuanna. We are due to have eggs fertilized over easter and he refuses to go back on his medication until then.  I only found this out due to finding his tablets hidden all over the place and he flattly refuses to discuss this with me.  I am thinking he has been off them for about a month already.... maybe.....  He will not cut down on anything else and I have been trying to get him to take fish oil tablets and men's health vitamins at the very least?  I am so nervous about all of this especially since reading about people going cold turkey?  what the heck are ZAPS.  He will not let me into his head, and tells me not to nag if I bring any of this up! He is a different person on this drug, I was very scared for him before he was prescribed this drug as he went to a very dark place and had been there for a long time.  I am also scared he won't go back on them as his sex drive is coming back, I could deal with this as I just didn't want him hurting in his head.  Does all this make sense to anyone and can you please advise me what I should do?  I love this guy!

i watched my mother taken off antidepressants or not taking them and its not pretty.
very scary, these things need to be controlled by a doctor who knows that hes doing.
you need to watch your husband closely and get him medical advice.
