It's really hard to really suggest anything regarding dosing, we're not equipped to deal with that here. that being said, what is your diagnosis? How long have you been on Celexa? these drugs can take up to 6-8 weeks to work, they aren't an instant drug, nor is it a cure - it helps you cope and get a bit more stable so you can work on your issues. You were over self-medicating wth stimulants, taking too much coffee can affect your synaptic system, it takes a while to undo. It's hard to say anything. Is this person a psychiatrist or pnurse, or just a therapist? Only pdocs/pnurses can prescribe meds, or is your psychologist speaking with your fam. doc?
I am on Adderall (adderrall) and was on effexor. I have tried every depression and anxiety med that there is out there. I finally figured out that I do not need the depression meds since I am no longer depressed. He originally gave me the depression med for post partum which was 11 years ago. None of the meds worked. I was more tired and moody and gained too much weight. I have tried many different ADD meds as well.
What kind of Adderall (adderrall) are you on (adderall (adderrall) or adderall (adderrall) xr)? The XR did not work for me because if did not seem to last very long and I also need lots of caffeine to keep me moving and awake. I then switched to the short acting adderall (adderrall) which I take 10 mg 4 times a day and it really helps. My son is on Vyvanse and it really works great.
Talk to your pschiatrist about this and see if they can explain why they have you on the depression meds. If you need the depression meds find out what else there is out there and do some research on your own as well.
I'm going to interject, that there are a ton of Anti-depressants out there, not just in the SSRI/SNRI classes. Taking an amphetamine for long periods is also not the best option to get you going, you are better off going on another type of AD or mood stabilizer. If you are having a hard time getting motivated in the morning, or in fact any other time, it's an indicator that you still have depression. Do you have a pdoc? Adderall (adderrall) is prescribed mostly for folks with ADD, which actually does the opposite response, it calms them down, just like Ritalin.

I hope this helps.
