cutting

by Pownce, Sep 08, 2009 05:32PM
when i was about 16 i was diagnosed with a severe depression disorder. but what teenager doesnt have depression right? when they put me on medication it only got worse.. i started cutting myself, and now that i look back im unsure if it was because i wanted attention or if it was the situation i was in. im 22 now and i have stopped taking medication since i was about 17-18. but just now.. actually a few minuts ago. i had a break down and i started cutting again. i feel really depressed and distant to everyone. i cry alot these days, and i feel really sensative to how people treat me. i just want to toughen up and feel better. what can i do to make myself feel better? this is the only help i can afford.

No, most teenagers are not depressed at al. Most have wonderful time albeit they are walking through a total mystery to them.

To be depressed and start cutting you must have some very significant issues which hurt you badly. Taking meds would indicate that is true as you were diagnosed with depression were you not?

No, this forum is not the only help you can afford. You must see a doctor, or a counsellor at least to talk to and get advice. Failing to do that will be the beginning of a downward spiral you do not want to go on. Find the money, stop something to afford it, and go to a doc. You are suffering a form of mental illness and need help. Posting here will help but it will not resolve it for you. Personal face to face is needed.

If you feel like cutting again before you do just ask yourself what that is actually achieving. If it's a cry for help, pick up a telephone instead, go see someone, anyone, Cutting is nothing but harmful and solves nothing at all.
