depression along with pain killer addiction

by rowski56, Oct 31, 2009 08:51PM
Ok here is a brief overview of my problem. I was in a car accident and was put on loritab 10mgs. I have never drank much and never did any kind of drug so pain killers were new to me. Well before I knew it I was battling a demon for the past two years. Now on top of my addiction I have always suffered from depression and anxiety. I was put on cymbalta 60mg, klotapin one mg, and adderall (adderrall) 30mg twice a day. Therefore I was on three different narcotics. So on October8th I decdided enough was enough and flushed everything down the toliet and went thru five days of literal hell. Now it has been 23 days of sobriety and Im starting to feel good except for the fact that I know I have damaged my opiate receptors.  SO HERE is my question how long will it take for my opiate recepetors to repair themselves. Please any info or advice would help because if I continue to feel this way- depressed then IM afraid of a relapse.

Hi,

That's your only question? So you've solved both the pain and depression you've "always had".
But then you say you're starting to feel good and at the bottom mention you still have depression.
And your main question is about opiate receptors? How do you know you've damaged them anyway? And what the **** are they anyway?
Could I suggest you reframe your post as currently it is more than confusing.

Given what you've said here doctors aren't much help to you as you just decide to stop medication by yourself. Must be doing OK, right?
