depression and anxiety.. what works best?

i was also wondering what antidepressents seem to work best for anxiety and depression at the same time??

I'm not sure if this is the BEST or not but our doctor prescribed Zoloft to my daughter for her depression and anxiety. It's supposed to help with both. We just started it three weeks ago so we'll see.
There's so much out there it can get overwhelming, that's for sure. I hope you find something that works for you.

hey! i have been on Celexa (citalopram) for going on 4 years and it is amazing. i was incredibly depressed and also had major anxiety issues.. i couldnt even leave the house at some points... my mum and both aunts were on Celexa... it is a mild anti depressant. i am on 30 mgs and it totally does the trick.
i know that different types of anti depressants are perscrbed for different symptoms, but if it helps i described mine as a feeling of having no control and being in a hole. i couldnt get out and get on with my life. i felt like i needed to control everything and when i couldnt i had major anxiety attacks.
i found that Celexa was mild and easy to go onto. it took about a month to feel a real change, but it was a smooth transition.
it really levels you out and its amazing what changes it makes! i have never been happier!!! its worth asking about for sure!!!
