depression help

Been very depressed lately w/ health issues, anniversary of parents death, pending biopsy for husband, 4 th not working as planned. Started st johns wort yest . Does anyone how long takes to work or can recomend antidepressant?

i'm sorry our going through so much right now. i've tried st. johns wort and i did nothing for me, but all people are different. i think it's really for people that have mild sepression. you will have to see your dr. about what antidepressant might work for you. i hope your husbands biopsy turns out to be nothing. take care. remar

I think it takes a few weeks for St. John's Wart to begin working and a lot of it depends on the individual.  July is the anniversary of my mother's death; I never got along with her and when she died there were a lot of unresolved "issues" which I still carry around with me.  So I can relate to your depression about that.
