imipramine during pregnancy

imipramine during pregnancy

I know you aren't doctors, but my OB GYN is just not helping me with this. I don't have a general practitioner (he retired and they pretty much told me to go elsewhere) I did go to see a psychiatrist at the free clinic, but the man hardly spoke english and in my opinion was an hour wasted. I see a counselor for generalized anxiety disorder (we think that's what i have - i'm not so sure anymore ... I could convince myself that i have brain cancer) I am 12 weeks pregnant now and I keep getting the run around from everyone I try to get help from concerning my "anxiety" and "depression". I have tried zoloft, paxil, celexa, and wellbutrin SR for depression. I have tried Ativan, buspar, and vistiril for anxiety. The only thing out of that list that helped me was the ativan, and not only is it NOT safe with pregnancy, but the docs won't prescribe it long term. I want to know if anyone has been on imipramine while pregnant and what they were told about it. from what I've read it's relatively safe with pregnancy but I'd like some personal opinions. I DO need SOMETHING for the anxiety if not for the depression, I've read that imipramine takes care of both. I CAN'T function and I honestly believe that I have depression now as a result of SUFFERING with moderate to severe anxiety for soooo long without successful treatment. please, does anyone know of or have taken anti anxiety drugs that are both relatively safe and work? I don't have a choice but to keep searching ... I understand that you all cannot tell me to take this drug or that, but your opinions help phenomenally and when someone suggests something then it leads me to do more research and all I want is to feel normal again. please??

well since you are pregnant then that pretty much rules out smoking cannibus to get rid of anxious feelings.  To get over my bad anxiety I just confronted the stuff that gave me anxiety and got rid of all my pills and now I never feel anxious....it all in the head..
