I have been taking it for about 5 years because it helps my AD medication work better.
LithiumLithium Lithium carbonate Lithium citrate can cause some stomach upset. For about the first 4 months I started taking it, I also got stomach aches. It's hard for me to tell if it made me dizzy because my depression itself causes vertigo.
Lithium also gives me really bad constipation and may do the same to you. Eating better helps with that. I am also a smoker. I don't know of any adverse reactions to smoking while taking Lithium, but regardless smoking is always a bad habit. I don't remember Lithium ever making me feel less like smoking, but if thats a side effect then I suppose it's a good one.
Also, be very carful to keep your Lithium away from pets and children. It only takes about 5 or 6 of those tablets to kill a small dog or small child. Lithuim in high doses can be very deadly.
