I used to be able to take meds with limited success. In 01 frustrated with med result I quite and went to other treatment like deit and supplements with littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys success. serveral years later I tryed to go back on meds now they all my me sick headaches and general ill feelings, so on even in the smallest amounts. Have you seen this and what is it?
You don't say what meds your on, but i can tell you that i myself was recentlly put on amitriptylineAmitriptyline Amitriptyline hydrochloride Amitriptyline-chlordiazepoxide Amitriptyline-perphenazine which is a tca, and it made me feel horrible (Stomach ache, headaches and malaise). I spoke to my doctor about it and he prescribed me an ssri. Some meds just do not work well with some people, but there are a lot of different choices and you might just need a change.
Also, just because a med did not give you problems before does not mean that several years later it will not. My brother has had to change meds 4-5 times over the years because of different problems devolping with them. I would suggest talking over your options with your GP.
That was a very unusual medication choice for that doctor to start you on.
I have only talked to two people that actually take AmitriptylineAmitriptyline Amitriptyline hydrochloride Amitriptyline-chlordiazepoxide Amitriptyline-perphenazine and the only reason they take it is because they have already built up a resistance to all SSRI meds and most other Tri-cyclic meds. I hear Amitriptyline actually works very well to control depression, but it's side effects are huge. I once mentioned Amitriptyline to my Psychiatrist and he said he wouldn't prescribe it to me unless all else failed. That was before I was aware of it's side effects.

Hope this helps in some way.
Why do you suppose you doctor prescribed that to you as a first option?

I suffered from IBS and my anxiety got worse. I still prefer fluovaxamine.
