I've been diagnosed with severe depression, anxiety/ panic disorder, insomnia- Mirtazapine works to combat all issues! I have been taking Mirtazapine for 8mos and I am no longer depressed! At first, I struggled with some of its side effects which include vivid nightmares, increase in appetite, weight gain but these issues have subsided.
that's great that you found something that works. Just wondering how long until you felt the benefits and what strength are you on?
Iv'e just had my dose increased to 30mgs and I've been on it 16 days.
When I first started, I was on 15mg. A month later, my dose was increased to 30mg because the 15mg wasn't enough. It took about 3-4 weeks to feel the benefits. It 3-4 months of being on 30mg to feel like my "normal" self. Now, since November, I've been on only 7.5mg. I only need it because it helps me sleep. Other than that, I don't experience anxiety or depression too often. I really hope the get similar results as I have! Good luck, take care, be well =D
did'nt really do anything for me i feel for my depression as uped from 15 to 30 and then 45mg. knocks you out big time initially as slept something like 16hours one time which freaked me out. course of trial and error i suppose as everyone's physiology and brain's different and sense of problems different as well.
To feel the effects of medication, do this pranayam as well. It will also help to control the side effects and you will not need to increase the dose. Over the longer term you will be able to reduce the dose. Try it and give your feedback at some point.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30 minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.
