prozac

my partner has been on prozac for around 10 years and recently weaned herself of them.4 months down the line she is feeling really low ,is this a side affect of the drug e.g. coming out of her system or should she be considering retking it .she really dosent want to start again.Is there a phone number she can ring or a helpline where she can discuss her symtoms (symptoms).

Hello. Was the prozac withdrawn over a period of time under a doctors advice? Ten years of antidepressant therapy would likely require a very gradual dosage reduction. Why did she decide to discontinue this medication? Please advise, GM

Andy, if she has been off Prozac for 4 mos. I would  think it is completely out of her system.  I agree with the above, she needs to go back to her doctor before her depression gets worse and it takes longer to pull herself up and out of that dark pit..
