sexual side effects of Zoloft

I've been on Zoloft for the past 6 months and my sexual drive has gone!  Not only my libido; but it is very rare I have an orgasm anymore.  

Is anybody out there suffering the same side effects?  If so, have you considered swithching meds?

This is very common with most antidepressants. Yes, many of us here have or have had this problem while taking an AD.
Hopefully some other members here can suggest an AD with little to no sexual side effects. I think Wellbutrin may be one of them. If you have anxiety along with your depression you might not want to take this med as it can make it worse because it is more stimulating. Or you may need to add an antianxiety med with it. Very common with almost all antidepressants. I actually learned to enjoy the stamina that this side effect gave me in bed. I could go for hours and my girlfriends at the time loved it.

There is one alternative. There is one antidepressant that has the total opposite effect called Protriptilyne. It causes extreem pre-mature ejaculation. I am taking this drug now and I hate this side effect. I am now lucky if I last 1 minute and I hate it.

One thing you can try with your Zoloft is to take your dosage in the morning and then when you have sex in late evening you will have a better chance of having an orgasm.

Sometimes on Zoloft I would skip a day if I knew I was going to have sex the next day and that works too.
