sodium intake and depakote

how much sodium should be consumed a day while on depakote er? I take 250mg twice a day. morning and night. I don't want to have any issues with my sodium levels and this medication so I'm just wondering because I can't find the answer to this anywhere.

also, will staying hydrated and drinking water help with keeping my sodium levels under control? how much should I drink?

I assume a doctor put you on this drug.  That's who you should be talking to.  Pharmacists can also help.  You might also try googling sites such as Mayo Clinic and Kaiser and NIH.
