stopped zoloft

To all who knows the answer to my question,

I have been taking 50 mg zoloft once a day for 16 days.  I stopped cold turkey and its been 6 days since stopping.  I have no withdrawal symptoms at all so far.  Is this all out of my system by now?

It's not possible to tell you with any accuracy short of a blood test maybe.
If you haven't had any withdrawal symptoms by the next few days then I doubt you will.

Out of your system it is but it doesn't mean it doesn't affect your brain chemistry anymore. No withdrawal symptoms so far so good and don't expect to have any.

I would not say the same to someone who had been taking Zoloft for 6 months and more since the withdrawal symptoms can start after 1 week. The therapeutic lag is also present when stopping. Your brain chemistry didn't adapt to the medication therefore suggesting there would be no withdrawal symptoms for you.

Sometimes it can take up to six weeks for a drug to take affect. Stopping cold turkey is not good. The best thing to do is talk to your doctor before stopping any medication. Most mental health medications you need to ween off of. Good luck.
