switching medication

by nikia13, Sep 28, 2009 06:54PM
I had been on Prozac for many years and it worked fine for me. Because of recent dealing with chronic pain by doctor prescribed Ultram which can not be taken with Prozac and so he changed me to Wellbrutin. This is not working and causing me more anxiety and headaches. I would like to switch back to Prozac and not take Ultram but just Tylenol for now. Can I stop Wellbutrin and start Prozac right away?  Thanks for you answer.

This is not a question anyone but your doc should answer frankly. Our advice could be misleading and risky as we don't know your history and so on.

Clearly the mental benefits of the first med should take precedence though, if it works it must be used. As to the pain issue, why can't the doc find a better pain med that does go with what you were on?

So I'm saying why change a winning forumla for something that may or may not help? Makes no sense really. But it needs resolution with the doc.
