tired of riding on roller coaster

I have been a roller coaster of medication for over the past five years for depression and anxiety.  the other day i started to see a psycho therapist and she asked what i was depressed about and could not give her a answer. Presently I am on (3) 1mg xanax a day,(1) Wellbutrini 150 mg and Lamictal 25 mg (2x day) also Clexa 40 mg (1) day. After all these years being on and off different medications I am at wits end and want to be able to go back to a normal life or get the right answers.  I wish I could be put in a room for a month with no medications and see what happens - no I am suicidal just frustrated.  What should I do at this time. Help................................

First thing I'd do is find a new therapist!  We don't always know why we are depressed, that is why we go to the therapists, and often it is a chemical inbalance causing our depression and has nothing to do with what is going on in our lives.  I think you need to start fresh with someone new, but don't stop taking your meds until your new doctor tells you what to do.  I know it's a hassle to start over, but this doctor has you on an awful lot of medications.  Well worth a second opinion.  Good luck to you!
